After a four-year hiatus, the 63rd edition of the Philippines’ Palarong Pambansa is finally back, this year, hosted by Marikina City from July 29 to August 5, 2023, setting the stage for budding athletes of this generation.
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. formally opened the games during the grand ceremony held in Marikina Sports Complex. The theme for the current iteration of the long-standing athletic competition was “Batang Malakas, Bansang Matatag”, affirming the potential of FIlipino youth to excel in sports.
Over 9,000 student-athletes from 17 regional athletic associations competed in 34 sports for elementary and secondary, including para-games, demonstration sports, and exhibition games.
