St. Francis of Assisi Parish Church
One of the famous churches in General Trias is the St. Francis of Assisi Parish Church, commonly known as the General Trias Church. This is the first Catholic Parish Church and the first stone church in the municipality of General Trias. The St. Francis of Assisi Parish Church is located at the Town Plaza of General Trias, which is also called San Francisco de Malabon, as a commemoration of its patron saint.
Looking at the exterior of the Church, you would notice the well-preserved antique and middle-aged wood from which the Church is made. The old Spanish architecture surrounding this Church is also an eye-catcher for tourists. The St. Francis of Assisi Parish Church is a landmark in General Trias.
The first Church in General Trias was primarily made by the Franciscans but was transferred to the Jesuits in 1624. In 1753, the Church became its parish. This Church was also used by the Banda San Francisco de Malabon as a training ground to practice the national anthem before performing it during the Philippine declaration of independence. Because of this, this church was declared as a historic structure by the National Historical Institute.
Saint Vincent Ferrer Parish Church
Another Church near Camella Tierra Nevada is Saint Vincent Ferrer Parish Church, located at Manggahan General Trias Cavite. San Vicente Ferrer was known for his religious poverty and believed to have the gift of miracles. Moreover, this saint was called the “angel of judgment” and is the patron of builders, plumbers, and construction workers.
Compared to the St. Francis of Assisi Church, this Church is relatively younger as it was established around 1984 as a chapel. In 1998, this Church was established as a religious center, and in 2002, it became the Saint Vincent Ferrer Parish church that residents of General Trias know and love today.
Saint Vincent Ferrer Parish Church is a compact church that can accommodate around 100-200 people. According to the Church, its schedule for this year’s Misa de Gallo is 4 am, 6 pm, and 8 pm from December 16 to 24.
St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish
One of the newest Churches in General Trias is the St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, located along Arnaldo Highway near Camella Tierra Nevada. This Church was newly open to the public only last November of this year. This Church is near schools, office buildings, and other subdivisions.
The Church is currently under construction and further restoration. However, the parish priest of this Church is already conducting Sunday mass through the parts of the Church that are already finished. This could be an option if you want a church near Camella Tierra Nevada. Sure, the Church is not yet finished. However, the gospel remains the same.
Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish
Another church near Camella Tierra Nevada is Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish. It is located at Brgy. Javalera, General Trias Cavite. This Church is very popular with the workers near the area. If you have heard of Gateway Business Park, this Church is only a walk away from the industry. Many people and workers are attending mass in Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish.
Its patron, Our Lady of Guadalupe (also known as the Virgin of Guadalupe), is a Catholic title of the Virgin Mary and is believed to be associated with her five apparitions. In 1887, Pope Leo XII granted the image a decree of canonical coronation. In 1895, the image was pontifically crowned.
